About the lake
Lake Conroe covers roughly 21,000 acres north of Houston. Weekends get busy on the main body; canals and coves stay calmer. Water levels shift with rainfall — if the lake is low, watch marked stumps and ask us about your pier depth before you trailer a deep-draft boat.

Marinas & fuel
- April Sound Marina — fuel, ice, transient slips when available
- Lake Conroe Resort / public ramps — check weekend wait times
- Seven Coves area — handy for Sunset Bay guests
Boat rentals
We do not rent boats ourselves. Local outfitters handle pontoons, ski boats, and jet skis. Tell us your house and dates; we’ll send two or three numbers that have treated our guests fairly.
Eating nearby
- Waterfront spots for sunset dinners (reserve Friday nights)
- Conroe and Montgomery for grocery runs and BBQ
- Ice houses that stay open late when the lake is loud
Rainy day options
Downtown Conroe shops, the boardwalk area, and a movie if the kids are done with foosball. We keep a laminated rainy-day card in each kitchen drawer.
